Hi!  I’m Sandy Vaccaro.  I’ve been training dogs and their owners professionally for 10 years. I work with owners in private lessons  helping them with in home behavior problems.  So, how did I get started?  I started training dogs at the age of 10 while in 4H. I continued training my own dogs and added in some of the neighborhood dogs, too. While attending obedience classes with my dog, I was approached and asked to apprentice.  What an opportunity!  Following a year long apprenticeship I began teaching classes and private lessons.

I continue to learn all that I can, and I stay on top of new techniques and theories by attending clinics and seminars held by the best of the best in the positive training community.

I believe that positive training produces the best and longest lasting results for both the pet and the owner. I found this out when training the dog that introduced me to positive training, my long coated chihuahua, Chico.  “Traditional” training didn’t go over well with him, so a new way had to be found.  Enter clicker training.  My little dog blossomed with this new way of training and I will be forever grateful to him. Training became fun again, and I was amazed at how happy and enthusiastic my dogs were with positive reinforcement training.

Arlo, my cardigan welsh corgi, is shown here with his “goodies” after earning his CD title with the AKC.  He earned first place in his class and high scoring rescue dog of the entire show. He missed being the high scoring corgi by only 1/2 of a point!  He completed his title with 2 second place and 1 first place finish.  The power of positive training!
